Pricing & units
Gold, silver, platinum and palladium are quoted in USD per troy ounce. One troy ounce equals 31.1034768 grams. Price per gram = price per ounce ÷ 31.1034768. Price per kilogram = price per gram × 1,000.
Currency conversion
Currency conversion multiplies the USD metal price by a daily reference exchange rate. Price timestamps and FX dates are shown separately. Converted prices exclude transaction spreads, taxes and dealer premiums.
History & change
TradingView supplies the interactive charts, priced per troy ounce. Gold and silver use native OANDA market references for EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, SGD and NZD. USD charts use ICE or OANDA references. Other selections use daily metal/FX series with historical exchange rates: multiply by USD/selected currency, or divide by selected currency/USD. Their available ranges begin at 1W. MAX covers the available history of that instrument or both formula inputs. Market references may include CFDs and are separate from official benchmarks and quote cards. The quote-card change compares observations across 00:00 UTC.
Historical price data
Downloadable history uses World Bank Pink Sheet monthly averages from January 1960. Each CSV contains the entire published monthly series, including any missing values, source metadata and workbook fingerprint. Historical prices retain their original USD denomination; today's FX rate is never applied to older prices. TradingView charts are independent and are not exported through this download.
Price timestamps
Each price retains its original observation time. Recent observations are up to three minutes old; older quotes are marked stale, then last available after thirty minutes. All source times are shown in UTC.
Metrics & official statistics
Gold volatility and momentum use the latest 13 consecutive World Bank monthly averages. Volatility is the sample standard deviation of 12 logarithmic monthly returns, multiplied by √12 and 100. Momentum is 100 × (latest price / price 12 months earlier − 1). These historical monthly indicators are distinct from daily trading statistics. The source period and publication date accompany each result.
Investment products
Product profiles bring together official fee, asset and physical-backing disclosures. Each figure retains its reporting date. A share price and net asset value are distinct measurements.
Official releases
News is read from approved official feeds. We show permitted short feed descriptions and link to the publisher. Release dates are preserved; unknown publication times are not invented. English originals remain labeled when the interface is translated.

TermsChart and metric calculations
One troy ounce equals exactly 31.1034768 grams. Per-gram price is per-ounce price divided by 31.1034768; per-kilogram price is 1,000 times per-gram price. Current currency conversion multiplies the USD price by the daily reference FX rate. Gold/silver ratio divides same-time USD prices per ounce. The formulas below define the monthly volatility and momentum indicators.
rₜ = ln(Pₜ / Pₜ₋₁); σ = 100 × √12 × √[Σ(rₜ − r̄)² / 11]
Momentum = 100 × (Pₜ / Pₜ₋₁₂ − 1)
P is the monthly average USD price per troy ounce. Calculations require 13 consecutive monthly prices. No missing values are filled.
